Human nature means that actors won't always make the best decisions. We can't blame these actors if they come to regret performing their parts, even if they did so for financial reasons, contractual obligations, or simple ignorance.

While Allison Williams has stated that she has no regrets about being a part of Girls and that she will continue to play Marnie for as long as Lena Dunham directs her to, the actress has admitted that she was disappointed with her role and that it was difficult to put her feelings aside while playing Marnie. “If Marnie and I were friends in real life, she would drive me nuts,” she told BuzzFeed. When it came to her love life, she thought Marnie had made terrible choices, such as sleeping with Elijah and Ray and pursuing Desi after openly admitting to having a girlfriend. I had hoped Marnie would be beyond it, but since she clearly wasn't, I had to accept it.
