Dream Interpretation
While imprisoned, Joseph demonstrated his ability to interpret dreams. He interpreted the dreams of two prisoners, one of whom was the ruler's cup-bearer and the other the pharaoh's chief baker. According to Joseph's interpretation of the cup-dream, bearer's he will return to his prior position. The baker's dream, on the other hand, was significantly darker: he was going to be executed. Both of these dreams came true, you may already know.
The Pharaoh's Dream
The pharaoh then had an extremely strange dream that he couldn't make sense of. He witnessed seven unhealthy cows eating seven healthy cows and seven wilted ears of corn eating seven healthy ears of grain in his dream. However, no one was able to decipher the significance of the vivid dream. When the pharaoh's restored cup-bearer remembered his cellmate Joseph's incredible talent to interpret dreams, he was inspired.
