Historical Events
Many ice fields and glaciers have formed over time. Each layer that is added creates a record of the climate at the time. Ice cores provide a wealth of information about the planet's environment and can aid in our knowledge of historical events about which we know little. They sometimes match up with Bible stories, proving that some historical events may have occurred.

The relationship is incredible—nothing short of astounding. It dates back many thousands of years, to a time before people began exploring the world's highest single free-standing peak.
