Action Geography
The Wisconsin ice sheet during the last ice age dug out the lake. The lake once served as a bay on the Atlantic ocean. Up to 25 miles (40 km) from the present-day coastlines, dry beaches and banks can be seen, showing the evolution of the lake over millennia. The plates floating on the lava inside the globe are continuously rebounding upwards despite the glaciers' absence. Residents of the southern coasts lose some of their land to the ravenous ripples when the land rises out of the ocean and tips a little.
