Lots And Lots Of Water
The lake's waters are encircled by a shoreline that stretches for 634 miles (1,020 km). Its numerous islets are outlined by an additional 78 miles (ca. 126 km). It descends 133 fathoms at its deepest point. It never totally freezes throughout the winter because of its depth. Ten rivers, including the Niagara river, which flows from the well-known waterfalls to the southeast, feed the lake. These waters flow northeast from the St. Lawrence River toward the Atlantic Ocean.
