The Sixties' Symbol

Tie-dye was popular at the time, even if it now appears old. A few entrepreneurial hippies offer their handicrafts to festival attendees here. Because there was no official festival merchandising, these — and the fashions on the following slide — would have to suffice. A basic rug-like material could be worn by either gender as an attire. The vibrant materials added to the event's vibrancy and were well-known to all.
