Legendary Tale Surrounds The Discovery of a Jet From Pearl Harbor That Had Been Lost For Decades In The Jungle.

A total of 121 bullet holes

As the famed war machine was ultimately given a permanent home in Pearl Harbor's Pacific Aviation Museum, specialists could examine it in greater detail. The museum calls the Swamp Ghost a “one-of-a-kind example” of the type of bomber that was crucial to the Allies' victory in World War II because it is the only one known to exist in its original configuration and has never been retired. In addition, it is the only B-17 in existence that still bears the scars of combat. The Ghost was riddled with 121 gunshot holes, yet that didn't stop it. Those results blew everyone's minds.
