Diana was no longer the same person she was when Charles married her at the age of 20. Getting the courage to confront Camilla
Charles appeared hesitant, incapable, or both to end his apparent relationship with Camilla as time passed. Things finally came to a head in 1989. Diana, normally quiet and reserved, summoned the courage to speak up during Camilla's sister's 40th birthday celebration. Diana arrived at the gathering unexpectedly, which was enough of a surprise, and disrupted a conversation between Camilla, Charles, and a third unnamed guy. Diana admits to being “terrified” of asking Camilla to speak privately in her covertly made tapes, which were ultimately revealed. Nonetheless, she remained “deathly quiet” and did exactly that.
