All that commotion had to have been heard by somebody. Interestingly enough. There were several changes made to prisons in the early 1960s, and one of them was the introduction of a music hour. Inmates had unrestricted access to music of their choosing throughout that period. As a result, there was a lot of encouraging din. In addition, Frank Morris enjoyed playing the accordion and did it frequently and loudly. Their midnight digging was made even more secure by the music they played to disguise their activities.
