The Inmates Who Planned the 1962 Breakout from Alcatraz.

If the Prisoners Were Discovered, What Would Happen?

The U.S. Marshals Service didn't think the men had a chance in hell of making it through the freezing water. Yet, a group of experts demonstrated, via computational modelling, that the guys would have benefited from the water currents around Alcatraz had they left around midnight. It's difficult to determine what actually occurred. The Marshals Service believes it's highly improbable that the criminals will give up their ways even if they survive (whatever that may be). This means that law enforcement would be prepared to apprehend the fugitives at any time in the future.
