Frank's Past
For Frank Morris, it was a tough go of it. He lost both his parents when he was 11 years old. After then he was frequently placed in institutional settings such as foster care and correctional facilities. Morris' first conviction came when he was 13 years old, and he received several additional sentences over his teenage years. He was in and out of prison throughout his twenties and thirties for various offenses (narcotics, robbery, theft). A Louisiana prisoner who escaped was transferred to Alcatraz. At that point in his life, he was exceptionally bright and crafty.
