The judge imposed a 10-year term for the bank heist. Frank had been in prison before, as was evident from above. He served time in several different prisons (primarily in Florida and Georgia) before being sent to Louisiana State Penitentiary, sometimes known as the “Alcatraz of the South.” Frank devised an escape plan in a flash and managed to carry it out. For a year, he evaded capture while on the run (for another robbery). Then he was shipped off to Alcatraz.
