Having No Control Over His Future

The following months were the most difficult of Cazares' young life. In order to conserve money, he was sleeping at his van in Mountain View. He estimated that, at the current pace of events, his “home” would only last six months, possibly seven. When March arrived, the young man began to make late van payments. His van wasn't repossessed until June, leaving him with no alternative except to live on the streets. Later, he discovered himself dozing off in stairwells or park benches. Cazares began to doubt his own judgement over all of his decisions as the misery set in.
