Twenty-five years after they first met, two cancer survivors experience a fairy tale ending.

The Battle that Cost Joel His Arm

Joel, on the other hand, was only seven years old when he had to battle a malignant bone tumour for his life. A bone in his arms, close to his shoulders, was broken by the tumour since it had gotten so big. His parents brought him to St. Jude's Research Hospital so that he might also receive chemotherapy. Despite their financial difficulties, the kind staff at St. Jude took care of his condition just as they did for everyone other who was brought there. There had been several nights without sleep because of the agonising discomfort. He was extremely reliant on painkillers. His right arm, however, had to be amputated since cancer had destroyed so much of it.
