The lack of conveniences
Having already spent a significant amount of money on the vacation, Gayle and her family made the best of their motel situation. So the grown-ups made an effort to experience some of the resort's ‘amenities. Regrettably, this was of rather low quantity. When asked about cocktails, Gayle responded, “None of the bars served them, and the piano bar and other areas of the complex were closed the whole time we were there.” Brochure promises of ‘entertainment programmes' also fell flat.
Breaking down
Everything in the hotel was broken, which only added to the stress. Some of the hotel's outside and indoor furnishings was broken, and the elevator was out of commission for “repairs.” Additionally, the resort's exterior was in disrepair, with many of the stone walkways having been abandoned and left to crumble and break. Yet, according to Gayle, the worst part was the pool area bathrooms, which looked as though they had never been cleaned.
